Styling details such as cuffs peeking out from a bracelet-length sleeved coat are a subtle way to pull to an outfit together.

Kicking off officially this week is Furla’s much-anticipated Candybrissima Show Tour, which has already travelled the world and will be making a stopover Asia with its 11th shop stop happening in Singapore! To be held over two days at Paragon Atrium, it’s a celebration of all bags Candy, by far Furla’s most popular to date with a cult following of its own all over the world.

Although, I’ve never been one t o really pay attention to Nicole Kidman, I have got to say she looked AMAZING at the Cannes Film Festival!

The highlight of her faultless outfits was the Christian Dior gown. An exquisite strapless gown from the Spring Couture range was structured in the traditional silhouette of the Dior house, complimented by artsy floral appliques from the genius that is Raf Simons, paired with coral pumps by Jimmy Choo. Need i say more?

The look was given a punk-esque twist with a jaw dropping yet enviable quiff which showed a fun and quirky side of Kidman.

I take my hat off to you, lovely lady!

With mother’s day approaching…it made me think of my own mum and her “Fashion Investment” theory…which suprisingly i have managed to integrate into my life even till today.

Now, my mother isn’t quirky or fashion forward. However like every mum she knows best. She used to say a woman only needed 10 essential pieces in her wardrobe and with these 10 essential pieces, every woman was entitled to spending as though it was an investment.

1. The LBD or in my mother’s case - the NOT SO Little Black Dress

2. The Tailored white dress shirt

3. The cashmere sweater

4. The easy pump

5. The pencil/midi skirt

6. The leather jacket

7. The perfect jeans

8. The lightweight wool blazer

9. The tailored trouser pant

10. The belted trench

Suprisingly, I’ve managed to do most of these 10 points successfully even into my 20’s…

Anyway enough for today’s ramblings! Happy mother’s day to all the amazing mums and mum-to-bes!

Good morning Japan!

What better way to start off the morning than a bit of love for Kiwi designer Karen Walker and her recent collaboration with UNIQLO kidswear which debut in the biggest UNIQLO store, Ginza Tokyo.

The cute collection features Karen Walker’s signature alphabet prints mixed with new, hand-illustrated, biro-on-maths-paper florals. Comprised of 18 pieces of mix-and-match styles including dresses, tops, pants and skirts for girls aged 3-11.

At the moment they are only available in Japan, however don’t fret, I’ve had word that they will be rolling out worldwide shortly!

To start off the week I thought I’d share this video that was put together by Dove.

Dove posted on Monday a three-minute ad on YouTube that teaches a vital lesson about how we view ourselves compared to how others see us. It’s definitely worth your time.

A former forensic artist for the San Jose police department met a series of women and asked each to describe the way they look. He had no way of seeing them behind a curtain. He prompted them to detail everything: hair length, facial structure, their most prominent features. He then sketched each participant from their self-description.

At the end of the video, the artist reveals two sketches — one from the participant itself, one from their partner. The differences are remarkable.

Remember: You are more beautiful than you think.

Now that I’m entering my 3rd and final trimester I couldn’t resist a post about ANOTHER beautiful DVF collab with Gap.
Diane von Furstenberg brings her signature prints and vibrant colors to Gap Kids and Baby Gap this month, bursting into a kaleidoscope of colours inspired by an African safari. The collection hits Gap Kids and Baby Gap stores TODAY.

The collection includes skinny jeans with bright prints, printed shirts, shirt dresses and paper bag shorts. And what would a DVF collection be without a brightly colored wrap-dress? For the toddlers, Von Furstenberg has reworked her classic silhouette and added shorts.

Illustrations of tigers and zebras, fauna, flora and exotic butterflies appear on some of the pieces. The prints include hibiscus buds, the signature DVF heart and Gap/DVF graffiti.

Can not wait for my little package to arrive in time for our baby girl!

Enjoy and get shopping! x
